Easter Camps and Workshops
Ever wanted to bring Lego mini figures to life? Now you can thanks to Createschool’s new Stop Motion Workshops – build, film, edit and add sound!
Taking place in Tallaght on April 14th.
Canoeing Ireland will be running Easter Kayaking Camps over the Easter break. The camps are aimed at juniors and will run over the two week break in 2014. Young Pirates (8-12 yrs. age) and Young Captains (12 – 16 yrs. age)
Pine Forest Easter Art Camp
A 1 week Easter Art Camp for children ages 5–12 years old will be held at Pine Forest Art Centre Monday 14th – Friday 18th April 2014. Situated in the Dublin Mountains, the Art Centre is set in beautiful scenery surrounded by mountains, woods and streams. Each child/ young person will participate in a variety of art and craft activities according to the student’s age, ability and interests.
Make a Movie at The Gaiety School of Acting Easter Camp
Make a Movie at The Gaiety School of Acting Easter Camp runs Monday 14th to Thursday 17th April, 10am to 4pm, for ages 7-18yrs (3 different age groups) Join the experts as they will help you write, act, light and do the sound in your very own movie. They then send the footage to be professionally edited and you will receive a copy of your movie on DVD.
OWLS Easter Activity Camp
OWLS are running an Easter Activity Camp at FitzSimons Wood, Dundrum, Monday 21st – Friday 25th April with the theme “Wild Play”. Children will be given the opportunity to build camps, make fires and toast marshmallows, collect and observe tadpoles, wade through muddy ditches. An activity camp for those that enjoy the outdoors.
See them balance, see them beam! Easter Camps at Little Gym, Liffey Valley run from 15th – 25th April. The camps are 3 hours long, 11.30am – 2.30pm and are suitable for kids between the ages of 3years (must be potty trained) to 12yrs. During the camps highly trained instructors guide the kids through a range of gymnastics skills and activities, they take a short break and have a light snack provided by Little Gym and then finish up with some arts and crafts. National Museums of Ireland
There are a host of free fun events at National Museums of Ireland this Easter.
National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology : Saturday 19th April enjoy a Live Performance – The Melodies and Myths of the Vikings and Gaels which takes place from 3 to 4 pm, and Museum will also have a Museum Stand at The Battle of Clontarf Festival in St Anne’s Park Dublin 5 where throughout the day you can enjoy an Historical Reenactment of the famous battle.
Swing by the National Museum of Ireland-Natural History on Merrion Square, the perfect place for a family visit, with lots to discover and explore- from aardvarks to zebras. Enjoy one of the seasonal worksheets, finding the answer to clues and learning some fun facts along the way.

Powerscourt Estate offers a fabulous family day out. Experience one of the best views in Ireland at Powerscourt Gardens, explore the highest waterfall in Ireland, or visit the Museum of Childhood Tara’s Palace.
On 21st April, join Imaginosity, Dublin Children’s Museum for a fun-filled day out at Powerscourt. This Scientific Story Adventure is a trail through Powerscourt, during which the families will encounter various characters – some of whom may be familiar from storybooks and all of whom are experiencing scientific dilemmas.Throughout the trail, the children will have scientific conundrums to figure out based on the natural environment of the gardens. Finally, Imaginosity’s Mad Scientist has a show for you at the end that may create more questions than it answers!
