On 30th glór have a Halloween Masks and Storytelling Workshop with Emma Fisher. Make a spooky story with Emma Fisher from Beyond the Bark Theatre. Make and take away a scary mask, just in time for trick or treating fun.
Workshops, Arts and Crafts, Festivals and More at The Hunt Museum
The Hunt Museum in Limerick has a great line up for October. Crafts include drop in Arts & Crafts every Saturday 10.15 – 11.15, Learning to Draw What you See Saturdays 10 – 2, Early Years Arts and Crafts every Friday 11am – 12.30pm.
On the first Sunday of the Month is a Kids Arts & Craft Club. The “Dream & Do” – Design Through Clay Workshop is on Saturdays 1 – 2.30 with local artist Clare Jordan. “Dream and Do” uses clay to reflect on shape, form and texture. Participants will design and create in clay, their own sculptural piece utilising ceramic skills received through the workshop.
As part of the Open House Architecture Festival , on the 20th, Ar-Kid-Tecture workshop will give kids the chance to learn about architecture through arts and crafts.
Thurles Halloween Festival
Thurles Halloween Festival has concerts, workshops, street entertainment, parades and more leading up to a Halloween fireworks display on the 31st. Great variety of events during the week!
Feile Eile Children’s Arts Festival
Organised by Music in the Glen and supported by the Arts Council and Tipp County Council, Feile Eile has a fantastic line-up of events for children (most of them free) during the 3 week period.

Come along to the East Clare Walking Festival on 4th – 6th October to experience & marvel at the wild beauty of the area. There will be 3 graded/guided walks and a boat trip/guided walk on Holy Island daily, as well as family walks in Whitegate & many East Clare villages on Sunday.
Halloween at the Hunt
The Hunt Museum in Limerick knows how to celebrate Halloween in style! Things get hairy & scary on The Spooky Tour on 26th & 30th, its the Croagh School of Music Halloween Party on 27th – Listen to their performance of Halloween hits!
Try Jack O’Latern carving – design and carve your own pumpkin on 26th, & a Family Halloween Tweasure Hunt on the 30th – tweasure hunters will tour some of Limerick’s museums to get the answers to questions and prove that you’ve completed the quests!
Dingle Food & Wine Festival
Highlights of the 2013 Dingle Peninsula Food Festival include a taste trail in over 60 outlets, live cookery demonstrations in the beautiful old St. James church along with food workshops, where you can learn about coffee, chocolate making, bee keeping, hen keeping and cheese making.
Last year’s free children’s entertainment included pizza making classes on the Big Blue bus, a Hungry Caterpillar picnic and a Mad Hatter’s tea party. There will be live music and on street entertainment. The Dingle Food Festival will once again host the finals of the prestigious Blas na hEireann, National Irish Food Awards.
Halloween at Bunratty Castle
The Halloween Holiday adventure takes place at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park on the October Bank Holiday Monday from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. This year’s Halloween horror promises to be an action packed adventure with lots of spooky tricks and scary treats for all the family.
Children and parents can get into the ‘spirit’ of things by taking part in our scary costume competition. Free face-painting will be provided in the barn on arrival so haunting can be at it’s scariest during the afternoon.
Portmagee Sea Shanty & Pirates Weekend
The Portmagee Sea Shanty & Pirates Weekend promises a great weekend of music, pirates and all things nautical. Featuring performances by international sea shanty groups, informal bar sessions, a street parade of pirates and pipers alongwith activities for all the family. There will be activities for all the family on a nautical and smuggling theme – including kids treasure hunt, fancy dress parade, pirate ship rides, face painting etc.
Annual Spleodar Halloween Arts Festival
Spleodar brings light, sound and excitement to the streets of Nenagh around Halloween time with drama, workshop and street entertainment for families and children. Watch out for fireworks, the famously scary haunted tour through Nenagh’s notorious old gaol and a fantastic selection of children’s theatre and hands-on arts and craft activity.
Knocknagoshel Halloween Festival is a ghost trail where ghouls, vampires, were wolves and witches take over the Well Road for a few hours from 6.30pm onwards. It is a festival of all things spooky, brought to you by Mindana and local volunteer groups. Smaller children should be accompanied by an adult.
Halloween Steam & Drama
Enjoy a Halloween Special Steam Railway Ride with seasonal children’s entertainment by The Crack’d Spoon Theatre Company at the West Clare Railway, on 31st October from 5 to 7pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
