Easter Egg Hunts

Kids love a good egg hunt and there are plenty of egg hunts planned so grab your runners and head to one of these:

Easter Fun & Games at Craggaunowen

Easter fun at Craggaunowen visitor attraction in Co. Clare kicks-off on Easter Sunday with a special guest appearance from the Easter Bunny. A fun filled afternoon is planned with puppet theatre, magic shows, bouncy castle, storytelling, face painting and traditional Irish music as well as some delicious Easter Eggs for all to enjoy.

Craggaunowen – the Living Past Experience is Ireland’s original award winning pre-historic park. Situated on 50 acres of wooded grounds, the park interprets Ireland’s pre-historic and early Christian eras. It features a stunning recreation of some of the homesteads, animals and artefacts which existed in Ireland over 1,000 years ago including a Crannog and Ring Fort. Medieval Craggaunowen Castle built in 1550 stands defiantly on a crag overlooking the lake and crannog.

Easter Eggs-travaganza at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park

Cracking Easter events planned for Craggaunowen and Bunratty Castle & Fo...Easter celebrations at  Bunratty Castle & Folk Park kick-off on Easter Monday, April 21st at 1 pm. Back by popular demand are “Wrestling Warriors on Tour”, American style action which promises entertainment for the whole family. These wrestling superstars have fought the world over.

Visitors to Bunratty Folk Park on the day can also enjoy the Easter festivities in the company of over 20 favourite cartoon characters. Other activities include an Easter bonnet Competition, Easter parade and disco, fire eater, magician and juggler, puppeteer, bouncy castle, face painting and balloon making. A new addition is the fabulous train ride with the Easter Bunny. The Thomas the Tank train was introduced at the Folk Park at Christmas and proved hugely popular with children big and small!!

There will also be a chance for visitors to see the new Spring arrivals at the Park, baby lambs and goats, and our little chicks and meet with resident Irish Wolfhounds, Fionn and Grainne, as well as donkeys, pigs, sheep, ponies and other farm animals.

Kennedy’s Pet Farm

Kennedy’s Pet Farm will be holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunts will be held on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Easter Weekend. The first hunt begins at 11.00am and there will be 3 more hunts throughout the day, the last hunt is at 3.30 daily. Don’t miss out on a fun filled day. The Easter bunny will also be making an appearance to say hi to all the boys and girls! There is no need to book and pet farm and playgrounds are all open.

Easter Egg Hunt Kilkee

Join in the fun in Kilkee at the Easter Egg Hunt on the 19th of April 2014 1-4pm on the beach in Kilkee, Co.Clare. This event is in aid of “AWARE” this year, helping to raise funds to help with mental health and suicide.

The hunt is suitable for toddlers to teens and to all the young at heart and we hope as many of you will come out and support this day as last year. This is a great family fun day out and parents participation is welcome. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance along with the Easter Chicks, jugglers, face painters and spot prizes up for grabs!

Easter Camps

Wonderland Drama Workshops

The Source Arts Centre are running a five day workshop for 7-12 year olds will run daily from 11am-4pm including a lunch break. At the end of the week, the workshop will culminate in a showcase of the drama, dance and music pieces the young performers have developed for an invited audience of family and friends.

Killarney National Park

Killarney National Park will run their annual Easter camp from April 22nd-25th. The children who take part get to experience nature close up and learn about some of the plants animals of Killarney National Park. They will use mammal traps, pooters, nets and other equipment and explore the ecology of the park through many games and fun activities such as scavenger hunts, doing the “un-nature trail, the bat and moth game, treasure hunts, pond dipping, and planting trees.

Other Easter Events

Ten14 at glór in Ennis

World-famous Irish trad music legends Moya Brennan (Clannad) and Cormac De Barra (Harper) perform brand new music in this beautiful music show that they have created especially for children and families.

Commemorating 1000 years since the Battle of Clontarf, Ten14 uses gorgeous music and lyrics to evoke the adventures of our first High King, Brian Boru, and his love of the harp.

Brian Boru Millenium Commemorations in Clare

As part of the Brian Ború & Battle of Clontarf Millenium, Killaloe/Ballina will host an exciting family weekend of arts, culture and heritage on 11th – 13th April, with living history, Viking boats, games and skills tests, pageantry, food and music. The weekend will also feature the launch of the National Brian Ború Trail linking Killaloe Ballina, Cashel, Clontarf and Armagh.

On 19th & 20th April, there will be family fun-filled weekend celebrating our strong Viking links through Brian Ború, featuring music, a Brian Ború easter egg hunt, and a Guinness World Record attempt to have ‘The Most Vikings in One Place’. Promises to be a great weekend.
