It’s that time of year, summer camp time, schools will soon be out and it is time to get looking and booking summer camps. We’ve researched all the summer camps for kids in Ireland and have put the details about local summer camps in each Mykidstime area to save you time. The FAI’s largest grassroots programme, the eFlow FAI Summer Soccer Schools enters its 18th year in 2014 and continues to provide children, between the ages of 6 and 14,with a fun filled week of activity during the summer holidays. Every year boys and girls of all abilities turn out to enjoy five days of fun and football. The camps are designed to cater for all players, regardless of ability.
Let’s Go Summer Camps
Let’s Go! is your No. 1 choice for action packed, fun filled summer camps. Let’s Go! Multi Activity Summer Camps operate in towns nationwide during the months of June, July and August for children aged five to thirteen years. Camps run Monday to Friday – 9:30am to 3.30pm daily. There are two programmes of activities, one for the 5-6 yrs and the second for the 7-13 yrs. These programmes have been designed by their expert team with the children in mind at all times. Let’s Go! iPad Camps are available at some venues, where they have combined the best elements of their traditional sports camp with the latest technology available through iPads.
Learn It Lego Education Summer Camps cover a variety of different themes such as Robotics, Mechanics Engineering, Construction, Science, Creativity. They have 3 different camps: Junior Engineers camps suitable for 6-7yrs, Machines & Mechanisms Camps suitable for 8-11yrs and Senior Robotics – Mindstorms camps suitable for 11+.
Whizzkids Discover IT Summer Camps are for kids aged 8 to 17 and mix indoor and outdoor action, with sports, code breaking & web design so kids have a fun & varied day. Camps are taking place during July and August in various locations across the country in top level universities and 3rd level institutions, thus giving kids access to great facilities. Camps run in DCU, UCD, Cork, Clonmel, Limerick, Galway, Maynooth & Tralee.
Featured Camps – Leinster
Junior Songschool is chance for 8-12 year olds to spend some time at the National Concert Hall, learning about writing, performing and recording songs. Runs from Monday to Friday, with a free concert for family and friends on Thursday. Songschool runs for one week on 23rd June and 7th July, and is for secondary school students who are interested in writing and recording songs, performing them at a concert, making a video, learning about music technology, and meeting people who love music as much as they do… not to mention forming bands and having fun!
Imaginosity is the place to be during the school holidays. Campers will get the opportunity to learn new skills, express themselves through art, drama and dance, get creative, gain confidence, play throughout the museum every day, make new friends and above all have lots of fun! Lots of camps to choose from Engineering, Magic, Elsa & Olaf, Circus, Elves & Fairies – something for everyone. Camps are for 4-7yrs, cost €100 per week or €25 per day and run from 9.30am – 1.00pm each day. Please contact Imaginosity to book a place. The camps run from June 29th through to August 21st 2015.
Science Summer Camps – Junior Einsteins Science Club
The Junior Einsteins Science Summer Camps contain amazing science activities and practical experiments designed to stimulate and inspire a love of science and learning. Using real scientific equipment they bring ‘real world science’ to their summer camps. Van Der Graff generators, Plasma balls, hovercrafts, dinosaur Digs, Bug hunts, Dry Ice & giant bubbles are only some of the excitement in store!
All of their instructors are real scientists and are Garda checked and fully insured. The ‘Junior Einsteins’ make a variety of explosive & slimy pieces to proudly bring home such as a model glider, slime, instruments, rockets, rainbow glasses, smoke cannons, glowing gherkins and fossils. Runs in Malahide & Killiney/Ballybrack from 6th July until 16th August and is suited to 6+yrs.

The Hunt Museum, Limerick
Join in on the fun this summer, with the return of the award-winning Hunt Museum children’s summer camps! Camps run Mon-Fri from 10am – 4pm, from July 6th until 21st August. Sign up for just one of the six, week-long programs or multiple! For 2015, our camp theme, Victuals, Varmints and Vessels, has been inspired by the collection of artefacts at The Hunt Museum.
Campers will use the culture and trade in Limerick, and historical characters of all kinds to imagine, create and design their very own art works and fun activities. This year, there will also be the added element of song, story, animation and drama. Ages 5+ (who have completed at least one year of primary school).

Art in Galway
Art in Galway is running summer camps for 5-13 yr olds, in Renmore, Galway on 17th – 21st August and in Salthill on July 13th – 17th & August 10th – 14th. The camps are organised and delivered by a qualified Art and Design teacher, and children can expect an exciting range of activities including: painting, drawing, 3D, and clay, to name a few. Each camp works from a theme and participants explore art concepts throughout the week culminating in a group exhibition on the Friday afternoon. These camps promise to be both educational and FUN! Discover the wonders of science at the Science 4 Summer Camp at the Aquarium in Galway, running from July 6th until August 21st 2015. The camps run fro 10am to 3pm and are for ages 7 – 12. Kids will discover the wonders of science at this years Science 4 Summer Camps. They will undertake experiences, design technology and lots more. To book a place you can click here.
If you have a smaller child, aged 5 – 7 years, there is the Science 4 Summer Junior Camp running from 28th – 30th of July, 10am – 1pm each day. This camp will introduce kids to the wonder of science by learning about water, living things and making simple models, rockets and will carry out a seashore safari! Power Soccer School of Excellence provides excellent soccer coaching for boys and girls in Galway and Mayo, training indoors from September to June and outdoors for Summer Camps in July and August. Boys and girls aged 3yrs up can join Power Soccer School of Excellence! The Little Kickers camp is for 3-4 yrs and runs Mon-Fri from 12 – 2 pm. The Mini Kickers is for 5-6 yrs and runs Mon-Fri from 10 am – 12 pm. The Main Camps are for 6+yrs, and run from 10 am-2 pm Mon-Fri.

Tips for Summer Camps
Mykidstime is run by parents and we have also compiled our Top 10 Tips for Summer Camps, based on our experience! Things like checking whether they need a drink or snack with them or what the procedure is at pick up time. Each camp provider should have a child protection policy in place. Ask other parents for opinions on camps if it’s your child’s first summer camp year.
