A Monster Calls

Based on the award-winning children’s novel by Patrick Ness, A Monster Calls follows 12-year-old Conor who attempts to deal with his mother’s illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss and faith. That’s rated 12A

A Dog’s Purpose

A Dog’s Purpose is the story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love. A family film told from the dog’s perspective. PG rated.

Hidden Figures

Hidden Figures is the story of three brilliant African-American women working at NASA Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. That has a PG rating.

La La Land

La La Land which has been getting all the rave reviews is the musical set in LA with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as an aspiring actress and a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Rated 12A.

Sing

Sing is an animated movie which looks fun, with animals like pig, mouse, elephant and a koala, all entering a singing competition, full of fun pop music. Voiceovers by Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey. Rated G
