For those of us who grew up watching Lynda Carter in the 1970s series, it will be interesting to see how Gal Gadot fares in the new movie Wonder Woman (PG-13) also starring Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright. It arrives in cinemas in June and from the trailers it certainly looks like it will be an epic adventure flick.

It’s rare to see women super heroes isn’t it, so we’re looking forward to a positive female role model.

So back to Diana’s origin, well apparently before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior.

In the new movie, she is raised on a sheltered island paradise, but when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat.

Over to you now. Were you a Wonder Woman fan when you were younger? Are you looking forward to the Wonder Woman movie? Tell us in the comments below.
