The festival’s annual family day out – PARKFEST – marks the start of Cairde Sligo Arts Festival on Sunday 8th July in Sligo’s Peace Park. A day long free celebration for all the family featuring music, theatre, circus, science, art & craft workshops & delicious food. This year’s Park Fest kicks off with a family yoga session by Louise Waters – what better way to gear up for a day filled with performances by circus and street theatre artist Nakupelle, Irish percussion group Maracatu Ilha Brilhante, walk about performance by Cillian Rogers of the Workhouse Studios; music by Well Dressed Hobos, Red Ellen, Sligo Gospel Choir and more! Join us at the Kid’s Science tent or for an experiment and hop into the kid’s word tent for some inter-active storytelling. When in need of a break, drop into the intercultural café for some much needed r and r!
In addition to the massive free family outdoor event the Cairde Kids programme includes a family concert with Moxie, One World Kid’s Disco with Will Softly, award winning theare company This Egg with Me & My Bee and the arrival of the Circus Big Top into Sligo’s town centre with family performances by Tumble Circus and Lu Lu the Clown.
