Helplink Support Services (helplink.ie) is a charitable organisation based in Galway that has been providing Mental Health and Conflict Resolution services in the West of Ireland and nationally/internationally for the past five years.
This September 10th 2017 is World Suicide Prevention Day and we (in association with the SCCUL Sanctuary) are providing a Family Fun Festival to create awareness around positive mental health and our support services.
There will be many different types of events on the day:
Music Acts: Galway multicultural choir ‘Sonke’, local band ‘The Jazz Mongrels’ and for the week that is in it…local folksinger Mick Brown singing his ‘Gallimh Abú song!
Children’s Entertainment: treasure hunts, creative corner, hoola hoops, dance, lawn games and more!
Harvest Competition: with categories such as – best jam, best brown bread, best quirky vegetable etc.
Our judge for the competition will be local expert gardener and Galway Bay FM contributor Anne McKeon. To find out more about Anne go to her website ‘My Garden Expert’.
