Lifetime Lab at the Old Cork City Waterworks will host a family fun Engineering themed open day on Sunday March 12th from 11am to 4pm. Admission is free and children and adults can enjoy a series of stands and activities which will help discover more about the many different types of engineering.
Activities will include driving VEX robots, LEGO construction challenges, connecting snap circuits, following engineering trails, make & do, hook a duck and lots lots more with all activities staffed by volunteer engineers and local STEM education and research centres.
The theme of Engineers Week 2017 is Engineering our Future and what better way to encourage an understanding of the many engineering disciplines than a free open day with engineers running family friendly activities. Activities from environmental to electrical and structural to civil engineering with provide plenty of hands on fun, participants include Legion Ireland, APC Microbiome Institute, INFANT centre and Tyndall National Institute who along with the Lifetime Lab primary science teams of Lifetime Lab and Lismore Heritage Centre will provide plenty of family friendly activities.
