I love Thai Food and have several cookbooks that I use. But of all that I have come across this is the best I have found. The spices and herbs needed are becoming more accessible here all the time and you can now buy low fat coconut milk.

If your kids aren’t keen on too much spice you can reduce the amount of chilli used and leave out the seeds. I especially like the Fish Cakes, the Ginger, Chicken and Coconut Soup and the Thai Beef Salad.

There is a whole section devoted to curries and another to rice and noodles and the book has a great fish section too. There are some great pictures of both the finished dish and the method, especially where a particular detail needed.

It is not large, with only 70 recipes but will give you a great taste of Thai food.
