Tell us a bit about yourself

Charlotte eadeMy name is Charlotte I am an 18 year old girl with a dream to change the face of cancer in young people. I want to raise awareness of cancer and to help people who are struggling to cope.

My biggest passion is my youtube channel which is a mixture of content including cancer awareness, beauty and fashion videos.

My other biggest passion is fashion. I love being individual and I feel fashion helps me achieve that. I love changing my personal style every few months and seeing the latest trends. I also love accessories, particularly handbags – I have got quite a collection now and love collecting them!

Describe your typical day

My typical day would probably be going into Brighton, having a look at the local shops and seeing what the latest fashion trends are. I love fashion and I love getting out and about rather than staying indoors.

What do you find most difficult about living with cancer?

The thing I find most difficult about living with cancer is the constant worry at the back of my mind. I am always concerned and even scared that the tumours might start growing again.

In the literal sense, the thing I find most difficult is not being able to drive (2 year ban since September 2013 because the cancer is a grade 3).

How do you stay positive?

I stay positive by looking back at how far I have come. I understand my condition and I know it is something that will not disappear overnight and that treatment takes time. I am very lucky to also have an amazing, very supportive family.

Why did you start a youtube channel?

I started my youtube channel because when I searched for youtube videos about hair loss, I found them very unhelpful. I found I couldn’t relate to any of the videos I watched, because most of the people were adults, and no one under 20 was making videos.

I promised myself that when I was well enough, I would make a youtube channel and talk about the information I couldn’t find myself.

So far I have had positive feedback and that makes me feel great and that I am making a difference.
