Can’t Believe It’s 30 Years since Band Aid

It’s 30 years since the original recording of “Do they know it’s Christmas?” the iconic song written by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the victims of the 1984 Ethiopian famine, and a new generation of artists have re-recorded the song Band Aid 30. I’m just finding it hard to believe it’s 30 years since the original!

This year the Band Aid Trust will administer funds from #BandAid30 towards efforts to fight the spread of Ebola and to care for its victims.

I can remember so clearly when the first Band Aid single came out and it was played non-stop on the radio at the time. In fact, to be truthful I ended up not liking it very much as it was so overplayed. I also remember Bob Geldof famously swearing on live tv (the days when that was still shocking!).

Anyway, enjoy the video clip of the new version and support the cause if you can.
