Does your mobile phone make your life better? How much do you use it every day? Join in a unique campaign to share how you use your phone to enhance your life!
All of the women on the mykidstime team are big mobile phone users and we know that you are too!
We use our phones every day for
- work projects
- to organise home life
- stay in touch with family
- and so much more!
Yet still we hear that women aren’t big users of technology!
To prove that this is not the case, Irish woman Joanna Norton wants women and girls to take part in an online campaign to show their experiences of using mobile technology. The results will be presented at this month’s UNESCO Mobile Learning Week, which is focused on empowering women and girls through technology.
“The under-representation of women in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths – is well-documented at this stage. It is a major problem in Ireland,” says Joanna, “The aim is to make women more aware that they are engaging and living with technology by using their mobile device.”
It’s easy to take part and support this great campaign!
1. Just take a photo of yourself showing how you use your mobile phone every day for work, family or just staying in touch!
2. Then upload the photo to Newstalk’s Facebook page or if on Twitter post the photo tagging @NewstalkFM and #MLW2015.
You have until 9th February, so start snapping!
Mobile Learning Week and UN Women
UNESCO’s Mobile Learning Week is partnered with UN Women and takes place at the end of February in Paris. Joanna will be there to present a visual storyboard of everyone’s photos showing how we use mobile technology, from young girls to grandmothers.
