Places to Change and Feed Baby

As parents, we’ve all been there, baby needs changing, but where to go? Fortunately, I have always found baby changing facilities easy to find when out and about in Dublin South.

All major tourist attractions have baby changing rooms including Dublin Zoo, The National Art Gallery, The National Musuem of Ireland and Imaginosity. As do most city hotels.

All shopping centres around Dublin South have designated baby changing areas, many have facilities on each floor. You will find changing rooms in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Dundrum Town Centre, Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre, Frascati Centre Blackrock, The Square Tallaght and St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. Individual stores that have baby changing rooms include Brown Thomas, Mothercare, House of Fraser, Boots, Marks & Spencers & Superquinn.

Baby Bottle

A lot of the family friendly restaurants in the city have baby changing facilities, to name but a few: Captain America’s, Milano’s, Donnybrook Fair, The Dome in Stephen’s Green, Ashtons & Wagamama. Mc Donalds and Burger King always supply a no-frills baby changing table in their bathrooms, while strictly these are for patrons use only, I have often run in to use them if there is a nappy emergency!

Feeding baby when out and about should not be a problem wherever you are. Most restaurants will warm a bottle or your baby’s food. If you’re a breastfeeding mother, feel free to breastfeed wherever you like! However if you prefer to breastfeed in private or you have a nosy baby and a need a quiet place to feed you will find feeding rooms in all the major shopping centres and in Brown Thomas on Grafton Street, House of Fraser in Dundrum, Boots in Liffey Valley and Mothercare in St. Stephen’s Green. Or else find a  comfortable chair in one of the numerous coffee shops around the city nobody will bat an eyelid!

Baby Nappy

Now for the best of ….Worth a trip for the nappy changing alone/ feeding rooms alone!!

The Dublin South Runner up Best Baby Facilities goes to Foodlife at St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. A self service food court with a dedicated baby corner, bottle warming and baby food warming facilities, clean and comfortable baby changing and cozy private area to breastfeed.

The All Out Runaway Winner of Dublin South Best Baby Facilities goes to Dundrum Town Centre.  Dedicated changing rooms on each floor with parent bathrooms and seating. Self service microwaves on level 3 at Frango’s for bottle and baby food warming. The most fantastic feeding room on level 2M with doors wide enough for buggies, comfortable chairs, breastfeeding pillows, air conditioning, water cooler, sink and toys and books for older children. A joy!

If there is somewhere that you have come across with good baby changing/feeding facilities please let me know!
