The FAI Summer Soccer Schools is the largest FAI grassroots programme. Catering for boys and girls aged 6-14 of all abilities, we aim to ensure that everyone involved in our camps has fun and develops new skills in a safe environment.
At the FAI Summer Soccer Schools we believe games should be fun. While participants will learn new skills and tricks, the most important element of our camps is that they are fun and that all children enjoy them.
The FAI Summer Soccer Schools 2014 aim to provide children between the ages of 6 and 14 the opportunity to attend a week-long football-oriented summer camp over the holiday period. Every year boys and girls of all abilities turn out to enjoy five days of fun and football. It doesn’t matter if you’re just a beginner or if you have your sights set on Robbie Keane’s number 10 shirt, you will get a lot out of the Summer Soccer Schools.
Our Mainstream Camps are our most popular and longest running part of the FAI Summer Soccer Schools programme! Each camp caters for players of all abilities and participants are grouped according to ability and age to ensure that everyone gets the most out of being on an FAI Summer Soccer School.
More seasoned players will focus on more technical and skill-specific training and everyone will come together in the afternoon to participate in mini-leagues and small-sided games.
If there’s one thing we’ve come to learn over the years, it’s that goalkeepers are different. In a good way! The role of the goalkeeper is unique and, as such, goalkeepers require practice and training specific to their needs. This is provided on the FAI Summer Soccer Schools Goalkeeper Camps! Our FAI-accredited goalkeeping coaches are specialised in developing the specific skills needed to become a top net-minder. All of the fundamental principles of goalkeeping are taught on the camps and each participant will get the attention he/she requires to maximise his/her net minding skills.
