Have you ever wondered where are the gyms near me? Or maybe you are looking to find a gym to join with the family, or just visit? How about an Indoor Play Centre for the rainy days or just when the kids need to burn off excess energy? We have all the information here just for you.

Public Leisure Centres & Swimming Pools

There are a great range of Gyms in Mayo from Westport to Claremorris and Ballina you will find one to suit your needs! 

Westport Leisureplex

Westport Leisure Park has lots to offer the kids! The main pool is a 25m size and the childrens pool which is 12m x 6m.

There are swimming classes which start from 4 years with the Ducklings. With the main ASA International Swimming Awards Programme from 5 years up.

There are also Adult & Toddler swimming classes held on a regular basis – contact the main reception on 098 29160 or the website for details of classes.

If you are bringing your toddler (under 2) for a swim it’s just €7 for parent & toddler including a swim nappy! For a family swim (2 adults & 3 kids) is great value at €20.

Claremorris Leisure Centre

Claremorris Leisure Centre is located on Dalton Street in Claremorris.

They offer Parent & Baby swimming classes and lessons for kids from 4 years upwards.

They also offer here Zumbatomic classes which are high-energy parties packed with kid-friendly routines with all the music kids would love. Suitable for kids between 5 and 12 years and gets kids exercising and having fun!

They offer a 9 week course or a pay as you go option.

Ballina Swimming Pool

Ballina Swimming Pool is located on Cathedral Street in Ballina. There are lots of options on times to avail of the pool whether it be for parent & toddler swims or lessons for the bigger kids. There is also an ‘Inflatable Challenge’ on Thursday & Saturdays!

Castlebar Swimming Pool

Castlebar Swimming Pool is on The Mall in Castlebar and is open from 12pm on Saturday & Sunday. They offer a Parent & Toddler Swim on Sundays from 12pm – 12.50pm.

The Swimming Pool in Castlebar is the first public pool in Mayo to have a hoist into the pool, which has improved it’s disability access.

Hotels with Fitness Club & Swimming Pool

Mayo is full of beautiful hotels with great fitness facilities. We have listed just some of them here please see our full listings for more great places. 

McWilliam Park Hotel

The lovely McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris has a great 18m pool with a childrens area. It also has a very well equipped gym.

Breaffy House Resort

Breaffy House Resort is located just outside Castlebar.

The Breaffy Club has a lovely 20m indoor swimming pool for you to enjoy.  There is also a leisure area in the pool which is a great spot to relax in or splash around with the kids.

There are swimming lessons available for the kids and a fully equipped gym. If you were interested in joining the Leisure Club they always have great offers on and also have familiy memberships available.

Mulranny Park Hotel

Mulranny Park Hotel has lots of leisure facilities including a 20m pool and a fully equipped gym. They have a family friendly ‘pop in anytime’ rate of €20 for 2 adults & 3 kids. They have good membership rates and also rates for just dropping in. So check them out!

Indoor Activities

There are lots of great playcentres in Mayo which cater for small tots to larger kids. They have climbing frames, soft play areas, football areas and even coffee areas for the parents! 

Westport House & Pirate Adventure Park – The Pirates Den

At Westport House & Pirate Adventure Park, The Pirates Den is a great indoor play spot for the younger ones.

They even have a play area for under 2’s. Also parents can have a well-deserved tea or coffee whilst the little ones run around.

Mayo Leisure Point

Mayo Leisure Point is a great spot for the kids to be entertained!

Nokey’s Adventureland is an indoor adventure play area for kids from 2 – 10 years.

It’s buillt over 3 levels with 6 individual interactive sound effects.

There is also a snack bar and 8 bowling lane to keeps kids of all ages entertained.

Tumble Jungle

Tumble Jungle in Ballina is Ireland’s largest indoor playcentre and a fun place with lots of bouncy castles, a climbing frame, jungle run and a toddler area.

Funster Playcentre

Funster Playcentre in Castlebar is a great venue with a huge climbing frame, tube slide, football area and toddler play area.

Gateway Leisure

Gateway Leisure in Belmullet is a fully air conditioned complex with 10 pin bowling lanes, pool tables and air hockey tables, a playcentre, a restaurant and a coffee dock.
