Spirit of Meath Halloween Festival
Meath comes alive in October when the Spirit of Meath Halloween Festival takes over! There are loads of family events all across Meath during Halloween – here are just some of the great ones!!
The Boyne Valley Activity Centre have a MedEVIL Archery Night which is a basic introduction to Archery and some fun competitions – MediEVIL dress code is essential!
There is also a Zombie Paintball night at their Watergate Street premises and it promises to be a night full of laughing & screaming. Teams will be picked on the night to go forth and destroy!!
Pucas & Potions at Ashbourne Library. This Children’s Art Day is an exciting & spooky celebration of Halloween that focuses on the traditional festival of Samhain and the origins of Halloween. There will be an arty treasure hunt in which kids must find nine hazelnuts in order to trade them for their treat!!
The Solstice Arts Centre has a Halloween Craft Workshop in which you can make your own Halloween Mask & Decorations. Its a three day workshop with ghoulish games and spooky theme all the way through.
Halloween at Bellurgan Park
Bellurgan Park has lots going on for Halloween this year. It will come alive with spooks & ghouls for a week long festival.
There is Fun for Kreepy Kids where you can make masks, facepainting, storytelling, trick or treat and lots more.
There is also a Horror Trail for the adults (16+) which promises to be a uniquely scary experience.
The Virginia Pumpkin Festival 2013 will be a great community festival. Starting off with a ‘Haunted Forest Walk’ on Friday during which you will meet ghosts, witches & other nocturnal creatures!
Saturday has a great food fair with lots on offer for all the family to enjoy.
Sunday hosts the largest pumpkin competition and the festival parade & fireworks at 5.30pm in which the whole town is blacked out. A festival weekend not to be missed!
International Rules Match & Street Festival
The first International Rules match, between Ireland and Australia, of 2013 will be played on Saturday 19th October at 7pm in Kingspan Breffni Park.
Cavan will also host an action packed programme where ‘Fun Rules’ for the weekend with a Street Festival with street theatre, family fun, walking tours, art exhibitions and lots more. On Friday 18th there will be a concert with the 2013 Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann Tour of Ireland Group.
Clones Film Festival
The Clones Film Festival have invited one and all to it’s four day film festival from 24th – 27th October which will showcase the best of Irish & Independent fim taking place in Clones ove the bank holiday weekend. The programme features a great mix of films, a kids programme, documentary and feature films.

On Sunday 20th there will be a 5km fun run around Cavan Town with Catherina McKiernan as part of a Learn 2 Run programme in Cavan.
Monaghan Town will be host to its 3rd Bats Festival over the October Bank Holiday Weekend. With live bands and fancy dress partys day and night. The festival will include storytelling for kids, face painting and street festivals throughout the weekend.
