Baboro International Arts Festival for Children

Baboro reignites the magic of imagination for the whole family.

The Baboro International Arts Festival for Children runs this October from 14th – 20th and will be feast of wonder, entertainment and excitement for all ages! The Festival offers and imaginative & breathtaking programme featuring the acclaimed Human Child (8+yrs) by Collapsing Horse Theatre Company. Me, Mollser (9-13yrs) tells the story of Mollser a character from The Plough and The Stars. Catherine Wheels Theatre’s Lifeboat (10+yrs) tells the true story of two extraordinary young girls who survived the sinking of a torpedoed ship. Frozen Charlotte’s Paperbelle (2-5yrs) is a world of black and white that is gradually transformed into spectacular colour.

On Halloween at Brigit’s Garden there will be ghostly and wondrous storytelling around a traditional Halloween bonfire!

There will be music from the Wacky Witch and others, mask making with natural materials and apple fishing!

‘Do you dare’? – a spooky treasure hunt takes place each day during mid-term break and also on the 31st October.

Pizza, Finnerty’s burgers and more available in the Cafe with special meal deals for adults and kids. The Samhain celebrations begin at 4.30pm and go on till 8pm.

Róisín Beag presents…COMEDY CLUB 4 KIDS

Come and see them all doing what they do best….but without the rude bits! Be prepared for moments of sheer magic, uncontrollable Halloween Pumpkin on Fence Postgiggling and smiling faces that will see out the day and make school holiday entertainment that little bit easier.  At the Town Hall Theatre over the Bank Holiday Weekend give the kids a day out to remember at Comedy Club 4 Kids! Shows are an hour long.

Galway City Museum

Galway City Museum has some great events going on for October & Halloween 2013!

There will be a Halloween Mask Making Workshop on 26th October perfect for 7 – 12 year olds – prebooking is essential!

On the 30th there will be a Family Drawing Session with local artist Bernadine Burke and on Halloween (31st October) ghoulish and scary Galway tales will be told by storyteller Rob Swannock Fulton. Pre-booking is essential for all events.

On Sunday 27th October the Macnas Parade will take place in the City Centre. It promises to be, as always, an amazing spectacle!
