Canoeing Ireland run a series of Easter and Summer junior kayaking camps each year. The camps are aimed at introducing juniors between the age of 8 and 17 to the sport of kayaking and its different disciplines.
What Are They?
• To progress those who enjoy the sport already.
• To have fun, learn a new sport, and become competent in the basic skills
• Promote team building and awareness between young people.
• To make new friends.
• No previous experience is necessary
• Juniors are presented with either level 1 or 2 kayak skills certificates and the end of the courses
Camps are run from the Canoeing Ireland Training Centre, Lower Strawberry Beds Road, Dublin 20.
Who Are they for?
Young Pirates Camp: This is for young people between the age of 8 and 12 yrs. The camps are three hours long per day each week
Young Captains Camp: This is for young people between the age of 12 and 17 yrs. The camps are five hours long per day each week.
Advanced Camp: The course is for juniors who hold a level 2 skills certificate and have some understanding of level 3 kayak skills. Must be at least ten years of age.
