With a host of dolls on the market aimed at girls, this month we asked a Mykidstime child to review a Lottie Doll. If you have been trying to find dolls for your daughter or as a Christmas present, find out what Fern aged 7 from Galway thought of Lottie.
What is says on the tin
Lottie is a positive take on childhood – no scanty clothes, makeup, jewellery, tattoos or high heels; this is a girl doll intended for girls. Unlike other fashion dolls, her body is also properly ‘childlike’. Her reusable packaging is also a refreshing alternative to the usual neon, bubblegum pink. “Be bold, be brave, be you!” is Lottie’s motto.
Lottie dolls have won an impressive set of awards so far: Silver medal in the UK Independent Toy Awards 2012, Preferred Choice Award for the Kids Toy Category in Creative Child Magazine Awards USA 2012 and Highly Commended in the UK Rainbow Awards For Toy Excellence 2012
Who did the Testing
Fern age 7.
What the Tester said
Here’s what Fern had to say:
“I like Lottie because she is not wearing makeup and I think it’s a nice change. She’s not too big like a Barbie so you can either pretend she’s a teenager or an adult or a child but when you have a Barbie you can’t pretend they are a child because they are wearing makeup.
It is nice instead of high heels and fancy dresses that she is just a girl like me. She does horse riding and other sports.
Her hair is the right length and really nice. I liked the way she comes with plenty of accessories. With Bratz or Moxie dolls you just get the purse.”
Product Rating: 5 Stars, “I love Lottie she’s great”
The Lottie dolls are available from Mykidstime Store priced 20.00 euros.
