St Patrick’s Weekend that means it’s the middle of March!!! The year is speeding up. Are you looking for activities for the kids in your area this St Patrick’s weekend? Here are some of the events that caught our eye in Cavan, Monaghan, Louth & Meath over the St Patricks weekend.
St Patricks Day Parades
In Monaghan Town this year’s St Patricks Day Parade begins at 3pm from Monaghan SC carpark and takes a route up Park Street, Church Square, Glaslough Street and finishes on Dublin Street.
In Clones, Co Monaghan the parade starts at 7 p.m.
In Carrickmacross, the parade starts at 3 pm, with Fun Fair, Bouncy Castles, giveaways, prizes for best floats, best band and best shop window display
In Ashbourne, Co Meath the parade begins at 2.30pm on Monday the 17th. There will be an artisan market, a kids’ carnival, music, and of course the parade itself.
In Kells, Co Meath the main parade begins from Farrell St at 3pm on March 17th.
In Navan, Co Meath the paradekicks off at 4.30pm on Trim Road and follows a route to Market Square.
In Dundalk, Co Louth the parade begins at 1pm on March 17th with music before and after, and the annual St Patrick’s Food and Craft market will be exhibiting the finest artisan producers and crafts people on Sunday 16th and Monday 17th March.
In Drogheda the parade starts at 12 noon also on the 17th.
In Cavan Town, the parade takes place on Monday March 17th starting at 12.30pm, starting at the Tesco carpark and finishing at 2pm on Main Street.
Trim Celtic Festival
The Trim Celtic Festival runs from 14th – 17th March. The Parade takes place on Monday 17th at 3pm and Daft Raft Race at 1.30pm. The festival includes such events as an art Exhibition, an evening of music, Charity Fun Run, Celtic Queen competition, Daft Raft Race, St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Ceili Mor.
