On Friday, 28th September, 2012 Ireland will host ‘Sea2Sky’ as part of European Researchers Night – in Galway, and Cork.
Sea2Sky is a free event open to all ages and will take place in The Galway Bay Hotel, Leisureland and Galway Atlantaquaria, Salthill, Galway, and in CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory, Cork.
We asked Collette from Sea2Sky Galway what we can expect.
What can parents expect?
Parents can expect to explore the mysteries of science in a fun and engaging way. From the moment they enter the exhibition hall, visitors will feel like they have entered another world, from an underwater landscape to the night sky.
Where else would they get an opportunity engage with former NASA Astronaut Dan Tani?
What are you most looking forward to seeing at it?
The interactive exhibitions, from the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) to the Spinning Chair!
Is there anything particularly unique or special that we should definitely not miss?
The event has been organised to engage everyone, so there’ll be plenty of hands-on and interactive displays. You can participate in experiments, competitions and quizzes.
We encourage visitors to try everything, ask loads of questions of the researchers and even taste the seaweed! It’s your chance to become a scientist for a day!
Tell us in 5 words why we should go?
Fun, Unique, Educational, Creative, Free!
