Opening its doors on May 3rd and 4th, the two-storey Pokemon: Detective Pikachu pop up is bound to be a hit with Pokemon fans ahead of the new movie.
What to Expect at the Pokemon Pop Up Shop
The ground floor of the Covent Garden pop up offers lots of photo-worthy backdrops with bright colours and Pikachu fun. Visitors can also recharge with Pikachu’s favourite pick-me-up for focusing his sleuthing skills – coffee! Take your pick from Detective Pikachu coffees, hot chocolate drinks, yellow turmeric lattes, yellow bubble tea and kid-friendly fruit juices.
Meanwhile, the basement will mirror the neon style of the film’s fictional Ryme City. There will be booths where you can channel your inner Jigglypuff in interactive karaoke booths, as well as nail art stands from Wah Nails where you can book in for a look inspired by the vibrant colours of the movie.
Throughout the Pokemon pop up, there will be a series of themed workshops. Take your pick from Pikachu cupcake decorating lessons with GBBO’s Kim-Joy, “recharge” yoga sessions, Psyduck-inspired head and neck massages, and Mr Mime-inspired mime classes.
The classes and workshops are free to attend, but visitors need to apply for tickets to the Pokemon pop up shop here. If you miss out on tickets, there will be a chance for walk ins on the day.
And if you aren’t quite sure what to expect, take a peek at the trailer for Pokemon: Detective Pikachu and get ready!
