Looking for a rainy-day activity that gets kids and teens off the couch and into something completely different? Future Shock is a virtual reality games and experiences hub in Smithfield, Dublin, with more than 40 VR games and experiences to choose from. It’s a great way to entertain a group for an afternoon, or to build a party around, right in the heart of the city.
Founded in 2017, Future Shock set out to give everyone access to top-quality virtual reality equipment, with age-appropriate games and experiences that suit a range of ages and interests.
Virtual Reality Games and Experiences

Each participant is fully immersed in their chosen virtual reality game or experience. Options include taking a stroll around Tokyo, Paris or New York, exploring famous landmarks with Google Earth VR, wielding a lightsaber in a galaxy far, far away, diving beneath the ocean in The Blu VR experience, or trying out different jobs in Job Simulator VR. You can even adopt your very own pet in The Lab VR game.
Fun, Physical Activity for All Ages

Before you worry that this is just more screen time — it isn’t. This is far from sitting in front of a screen; once the headset is on, be prepared for a physical workout while friends cheer you on.
Each booth accommodates up to four people. One person wears the headset while the others watch the action unfold on a handy monitor, so everyone gets an insight into the VR world together. Play solo for high scores, or book a second booth for team-based multiplayer challenges.
Virtual Reality Games & Experience Parties

For larger groups or parties of up to 40, several booths can be booked together, or you can rent the entire space. The minimum age for all players is 8+, and it’s best to book your virtual reality experience in advance.
