If someone told you that David Beckham builds LEGO in his spare time, you might be surprised – but the football megastar and dad-of-four is a genuine LEGO enthusiast. His Instagram posts have shown him embarking on some seriously mammoth builds, and one of the best-loved was the 4,000-piece LEGO Disney Castle, built for princess-mad daughter Harper.
Beckham shared a photo of himself surrounded by all 4,080 pieces of the LEGO Disney Castle, captioning it: “Page 1 of the Disney castle, 4000 pieces 490 pages of instructions I look confused but I’m so excited.”
A few days later, he posted a photo of the completed castle with the caption: “1am done… Someone’s gonna have a nice surprise in the morning 👸 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ❤️”
This wasn’t the first time Beckham had spoken publicly about his love of LEGO. In 2014, he told The Sunday Times that building LEGO helped reduce stress, saying it “helps to calm me down.” Around that time, his big build was the LEGO Tower Bridge set – a whopping 4,287 pieces.
Back in 2010, Beckham did a live webchat with fans and talked about his love of LEGO, having just completed the LEGO Taj Mahal, a staggering 5,922-piece build. Interest in the set reportedly surged after fans saw him take it on.
