It’s nearly that time again — the night when every house in Ireland tunes in to RTÉ’s Late Late Toy Show. Pyjamas, sweets and hot chocolate are the order of the day, and if your kids are anything like ours, you’ll want a notepad handy to jot down all the new additions to the Christmas list!

There are some constants on the show — things that happen every single year — so we’ve put them all onto our free bingo sheet. Just download the bingo sheet here and tick off each moment as you spot it.

And, of course, the first person to shout BINGO gets an extra chocolate! Those are the rules… not that we’re saying parents should be competitive or anything.

Happy playing — and don’t forget to see if any of our Hot Toys for Christmas predictions make it onto the show too!

Late Late Toy Show History

The first Toy Show aired on RTÉ in the early 1970s as a 30-minute slot at the end of the regular Late Late Show. Gay Byrne hosted a segment for parents on that year’s must-have toys while the children were tucked up in bed!

It proved so popular that it eventually grew into a full show, complete with Christmas musical entertainment. Lucky children were invited on to test and review the toys, and over time it evolved into the Christmas extravaganza families love today.

The Toy Show continues to be one of the biggest nights of the year on Irish television, with viewers watching live on RTÉ One and many more streaming online from around the world. Every year, thousands of families apply for a treasured seat in the studio audience, though only a small number of tickets are ever released — all in the hope of hearing that famous catchphrase: “There’s one for everybody in the audience!”

Yes — the bingo sheet is a free download, ready to print or view on screen at home before the show starts.
