A Nod to Star Wars History
You may not know about (or be too young to remember!) the infamous 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, which first introduced the celebration of Life Day on Chewbacca’s home planet, Kashyyyk.
That original special was much ridiculed over the years, so much so that George Lucas kept it out of official circulation. It does, however, have one lasting claim to fame — it brought one of Star Wars’ most iconic characters to the screen for the very first time: bounty hunter Boba Fett.

What Happens in the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special?
Life Day brings characters like Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and their droids together for a fabulous feast.
The story picks up after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, as Rey leaves her friends to prepare for Life Day. While visiting a mysterious Jedi Temple with BB-8, Rey ends up on a cross-timeline adventure through key moments in Star Wars history — all told in LEGO form.
Along the way, she meets familiar Jedi faces such as Yoda, Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi, racing to make it back in time for the Life Day feast with her friends.
The special was produced by Atomic Cartoons, the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm, and blends humour, nostalgia and plenty of easter eggs for longtime Star Wars fans, alongside younger viewers new to the saga.
