While every family is different and parents may have differing perspectives on what they feel is appropriate to watch at different ages, it’s important that parents can make these decisions easily.
So Netflix parental controls are being upgraded and improved to offer even better functions.
The new improvements are being rolled out in the coming months, and will be available later this year across the world and across the many devices used by Netflix members.

PIN Parental Control on Netflix
They are now introducing a PIN parental control for individual movies and series. This will allow parents and guardians more specific control over what children can watch on Netflix.
While Netflix already provides PIN protection for all content at a particular maturity level for Netflix accounts, PIN protection for a specific series or film provides families with an additional tool to make decisions they are comfortable with.
More Prominent Maturity Ratings
Netflix will also be displaying more prominently the maturity level rating for a series or film once a member hits play on a title.
The maturity ratings are available to see on certain screens when browsing for films, but now they are being shown as you start to view a film or programme so that you can tell straight away what the maturity level is.
They are also looking at how to improve this type of information so you can see at a glance what age this would be appropriate for.
Mike Hastings, Director of Enhanced Content at Netflix explains “These latest steps are part of our continuous efforts to keep members better informed, and more in control, of what they and their families choose to watch and enjoy on Netflix.”
