Now the intrepid inventor and his canine companion have moved into augmented reality with an immersive app experience.

Have a Role in the Wallace & Gromit App
In the app, players take on the challenge of fixing up Bristol — the city in the south west of England that’s also home to Aardman Animations, the creators of Wallace & Gromit.
It’s a major story for the two characters, bringing them to fans in a brand-new interactive format for the first time.
What is The Big Fix Up app?
The story on the app follows Wallace and Gromit’s new business venture, Spick & Spanners. The pair win a contract to “fix up” Bristol — and you, the player, are the newest employee of the company.
Once you download the free Big Fix Up app, you’ll experience the story unfold through a mix of CG animations, simulated phone calls from characters, AR gameplay and comic strips. It’s designed to let you interact with the story in real time, rather than just watch it happen.
Fictioneers, who created The Big Fix Up, describe it as a first-of-its-kind experience, blending different technologies to tell collaborative, immersive stories.
Some familiar voices bring the characters to life:
- Jim Carter (Downton Abbey) as businessman Bernard Grubb
- Isy Suttie (Peep Show) as hacker Lily Hackerby
- Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter, Call the Midwife, The Age of Innocence) as B.E.R.Y.L., an AI bot
- Ben Whitehead (Wallace & Gromit) as Wallace
The app is free to download, with in-app purchases available for additional AR experiences.
