My daughter is mad about LEGO, and we’ve visited a few LEGO stores over the years. It’s well worth setting a budget before you go in, because it really is a hive of activity, excitement and creativity — and very easy to get carried away! Just seeing the huge LEGO creations used to decorate the stores is worth a visit in itself, from popular characters to iconic landmarks. The sheer skill is incredible.

LEGO expanded its UK footprint with new stores in Birmingham’s Bull Ring and Southampton’s West Quay Shopping Centre, giving families in the Midlands and on the south coast a brand-new place to shop, build and play.
What Can You Expect?
LEGO stores like these are designed to be more than just a shop — they’re a hands-on experience for the whole family. Look out for:
- Brick Specialists on hand to help you find the perfect LEGO set
- Pick & Build Wall, where you can choose the bricks and elements you want in all different shapes and colours. Grab a cup and fill it up with whatever pieces you choose — it’s the perfect pick-n-mix!
- Digital Box, where you can scan almost any boxed LEGO set and see the model come to life in 3D. There’s no better way to test drive a set than seeing the finished product right before your eyes.
- Hands-on play opportunities, including free build challenges and in-store events
- Build a Minifigure Tower, where you can mix and match tops, bottoms, heads, hair pieces and accessories to create your own minifigure

Alongside the two new UK stores, LEGO also expanded across the Netherlands and France, with new stores opening in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Marseille.
The Netherlands got two new stores: a flagship store in Amsterdam and another in Utrecht. The Amsterdam flagship store offers a range of exciting LEGO innovations, including a Mosaic Maker experience, along with brick-building possibilities inspired by Dutch history and culture.
LEGO fans in France can head to Marseille for a brand store with the same mix of hands-on play and exclusive sets.
