These Pumpkin scones are great for kids to bake along with you. Adding pumpkin to your scones helps to make them a bit healthier at the same time. (On the other hand, if you want an extra treat, serve with fresh whipped cream!). 
Serves 6


  • 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (1/2 lb)cut into chunks
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 200C
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon & salt in a large bowl
  3. Add butter cubes and rub with fingers until it looks like bread crumbs
  4. In another bowl, gently mix the milk and pumpkin puree
  5. Slowly add to the dry mix
  6. Form a dough
  7. Lightly flour and knead dough
  8. Flatten and cut into triangles. You can also use a cookie cutter
  9. Sprinkle with sugar
  10. Bake for 20 mins or until skewers clean.
