The Best Child Friendly Restaurants in Letterkenny


There are some great family friendly places to “eat out” in Donegal, we’ve put together a few places that we think you might like in Letterkenny. And if you’re heading south, we have recommended places to eat with kids in Bundoran, Ballyshannon and Donegal Town.

The Stateside American Restaurant in Letterkenny “they are so child friendly, breastfeeding friendly and staff go out of their way to help. Great food too!”

Shapla Restaurant

The Shapla Restaurant in Letterkenny is cosy and welcoming to families.  (Also recommended is The Money Tree on Upper Main Street for Chinese food).

Arena 7

The Strikes Restaurant at the Arena 7 Entertainment Complex in Letterkenny has a family meal menu and you can get a bowling deal as well with the meal. “Staff and service fantastic”

The Silver Tassie Hotel

The Silver Tassie in Letterkenny has a carvery on Sunday with kids menu, under 4s go free, play corner available.

“Go on a Sunday. The food is class. It’s buffet style .. the dessert table is to die for. Yum yum!!! They have a kiddies corner and a girl employed there to watch the kids.”

La Fantasia

Italian restaurant La Fantastia out by the Dry Arch comes recommended: “Staff are lovely.”

Pats on the Square

Pats on the Square in Letterkenny serves Italian food including pizza and vegetarian dishes.

The Red Pepper

And just across the border in Castlederg is The Red Pepper.

“Great menu, lovely kids food – not processed, freshly sourced and made and really reasonable prices, four can eat a great Sunday lunch and drinks for under £40, also does great teatime menu. Staff are lovely, provide drawing stuff and are extremely accommodating of children, always a lovely experience.
