Dr. Hamilton, a pediatrician at Pacific Ocean Pediatrics in Santa Monica, CA shows how to calm a crying baby using “The Hold”. This technique has been used by Dr. Hamilton (Dr. Bob) to quiet infants during office visits and parents have learned it and have experienced great success at home.
Dr Bob’s technique is simple, just
- fold the arms across the chest
- secure arms gently
- hold the diaper area
- gently rock at a 45 degree angle.
If the baby does not quiet down then do check if the baby is hungry, or else he or she may be unwell if crying persists.
