Looking for some fun craft projects to do with your child? Here are 4 book related craft projects for kids that you can do together.
#1. Make Hearts Strings
Dottieangel has this lovely project to make sets of strings with hearts cut out of pages of an old book.
As well as the book you will need scissors, sewing thread, wrapping paper and tape.
The instructions on the blog are nice and clear.
#2. Create Bookmarks and Tags
We really liked this cool idea from Vakuoli who takes old books and dictionaries salvaged from recycling and turns them into book marks and tags.
Once you have created one or two (or more!) templates out of cardboard you can then use the templates to draw around and cut out the old book pages to make different sized tags or bookmarks.
#3. Make Paper Pinwheels
This is a nice project from Better Homes & Gardens to make Paper Pinwheels. They were using them to put on top of cupcakes for a book-themed party.
You will need an old book, some pins, a pair of pliers and some sticks to pin your wheels onto.
#4. Make Google Eyed Bookmarks
Try our Mykidstime project to make some Google Eyed Bookmarks!
You’ll need some coloured card or construction paper, some scissors, a ruler, some glue and a pen and pencil.
You could use craft googly eyes instead of drawing them but we liked the idea that each child could make their bookmark eye design individual.
