With the vagaries of Irish weather we have to grab the opportunities to get outdoors whenever we can. So here's some of the best places in Kerry to get outdoors with kids and enjoy the fine scenery in the county.
Muckross House and Gardens
Muckross House & Gardens in Killarney, has lovely walks from the house down to the Killarney Lakes and Torc Waterfall. Combine a walk with lunch in the lovely cafe. Or just wander around the peace and quiet of the National Park.
Glentennassig Woods is located just off the Tralee to Dingle road at Castlegregory. It offers spectacular walking along wooden trails surrounded by a lake and Annascaul mountain.
Visit Crag Cave located just outside of Castleisland. Step into a cave that was 1 million years in the making!

Blue Flag Beaches in Kerry
We have 13 blue flag beaches in Kerry and many more that are almost as good. Why not pack a picnic and head off to the beach and get away from it all.
Tralee Town Playground
An excellent modern playground with the usual equipment. Highlights include the wonderful rose gardens. Parking is available.
Kennedy's Pet Farm & Playgrounds
Kennedy's Pet Farm & Playgrounds located just outside of Killarney on the Cork Road. Well worth a visit and can accomodate large numbers of people. Plenty of parking available.

Coolwood Wildlife Park in Killarney: Visit Kerry's best kept secret in Killarney and get up close to Alpacas, Prarie Dogs and so much more.
