Have you come across Little Alchemy yet? It’s a new app and online game and here’s our review:

What is Little Alchemy?

little alchemyLittle Alchemy is an app and online game where you start with 4 basic elements and mix them to start creating more things.

It’s all about mixing elements to create interesting, fun and surprising items. Every combination is a little puzzle to solve. Your objective is to reach 510 elements at the end.

As well as being available for iOS and Android (it’s free!) you can play on desktop at the Little Alchemy offical website and if you sign in you can sync across devices too.

What Our Reviewers Thought

“It’s a bit addictive. It’s fun to experiment and see what each pair of elements makes. I liked trying to reach the goal of 500 items.” Fern aged 10.

I thought it was good because it is a bit educational, it does encourage kids to experiment and think creatively as they try to work out what combinations will make.

N.B. It is rated 12+ but I have looked at all the elements you are supposed to make and the only thing I can see is tobacco and alcohol on there so I don’t see anything to worry about. You can view the full Little Alchemy list of elements if you want to reassure yourself about the types of things that your child will be creating during the game.
