Planning a visit with the family to Dublin North County Dublin? Here are our suggestions for the top 10 things to do with kids in North County Dublin:

malahide castle#1. Visit Malahide Castle

Malahide Castle has so much to offer:

  • a huge playground,
  • Tara's Palace,
  • The Fry Model Railway, all situated in the beautiful grounds of Malahide Castle with 
  • acres of parkland and woods to run around in. 

A great way to spend the day!

#2. Head to one of the great North County Dublin beaches

Pack a bag, choose your beach and head on down for a day of swimming, sand castle building and ice creams!

#3. Check out Reynoldstown Animal Farm in Naul.

Reynoldstown Animal Farm is a working farm where you will receive a bucket of grain and carrots and the children can touch, hold and feed real animals. Springtime is particularly nice as the baby animals are born. Bring your wellies!

On a nice day this is almost unbeatable.

Enjoy a stroll along Howth Harbour where tour boats make regular trips to Ireland's Eye throughout the day and let the children feed the seals with fish from local shops.

Plenty of places to eat and drink or stop at one of the shops to pick up picnic supplies. There's a small playground in the village as well.

#5. Spend the day in Newbridge House and Traditional Farm, Donabate.

The children will have lots of fun at the playground working up an appetite for lunch in the picnic area, and finish off with a relaxing wander around the farm.

#6. A Boat Trip to Irelands Eye

Take the Irelands Eye Ferry from East Pier in Howth to Irelands Eye where you can explore this picturesque island with its many different species of birds, the ruins of St. Nessans Church and take a picnic on the beautiful beaches

Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the Millsand try their hand at grinding or just enjoy the café and craft shop.

#8. Visit Ardgillan Castle.

Ardgillan Castle with its huge colourful playground which looks out onto the sea is a favourite of my children. While you’re there why not have a family bbq in picnic area.

#9. Take the Dublin Tour of North Coast & Castle

This is a fabulous way to see Malahide, Portmarnock, Howth and more. Make sure you bring your camera!

#10. Visit Fingal Arts Centre, Rush.

The Fingal Arts Centre in the seaside village of Rush was one the first churches to be built in Ireland after the reformation, holds art exhibitions and monthly craft/country fairs and events.
