#1. Kilkenny Castle

Spend a few hours in the lovely grounds of Kilkenny Castle. Families with older children can take a tour of the castle (while it is a great tour, it might not appeal so much to the younger ones).

Outside, there is plenty of space for picnics, playing ball and walking.  Bicycles are not allowed, and dogs must be kept on a leash.  You can also visit and feed the ducks in the wildlife sanctuary, and play in the colourful new playground.

#2. Nore Valley Park’s Open Farm

Feed lambs, goats, ducks and other animals at Nore Valley Park Open Farm near Bennettsbridge.  Or have fun at some of other activities including pedal go-karts, crazy golf and trailer rides.

Set in the stunning Nore Valley you can enjoy a peaceful river walk and nature trail. There are onsite Camping and Caravan facilities available.

#3.  Castlecomer Discovery Park

Spend a day at Castlecomer Discovery Park where you can follow the nature trails through the woodlands, do some fishing in the lakes, have a picnic or eat at the cafe in the visitor centre, and spend some time in the adventure playground.

#4. Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum

See the great variety of enormous trees at Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum, just outside the picturesque village of Inistioge which is also well worth a visit!

Walk around the lovely gardens, have a picnic, or some refreshments at the tea rooms.
