#1. Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, Carlow
For a great escape with the family I can recommend the Mount Wolseley Hotel with an award winning spa and championship golf course. I stayed here with extended family for a weekend break. They stayed in the on-site self catering homes and we stayed in the hotel. Between us we had children ranging in age from 2 to 15 and we found plenty to amuse all ages.
The kids aged 4 to 12 loved the Woolie Bear Kids Club, which runs daily activities during school holidays. The club is fully supervised and the kids did art & craft, dance, golf lessons and some baking. There was even an option for them to go to the Woolie Bear Dinner, again fully supervised with movie nights and activities to suit their age.
For teens they have a Teen Zone with a games room and everyone enjoyed the complimentary access to the Leisure centre with an amazing pool. There is also an on-site playground with a zip line and older teens can enjoy a round of golf or a visit to the Spa. All in all we had a super break and would hope to return for another break away with the family.
