Paris cafés and bistros serve excellent food and are great alternatives to traditional restaurants for dining with kids in a relaxed atmosphere. Despite what you might think, French food is not fussy so don’t worry! Most restaurants offer steak or chicken and you will find Croque Monsieur (a melted-cheese & ham sandwich) on nearly every café menu. Bon appétit!
#1. Paris Morning Markets
Top of the list for fun and value is to take the kids to one of the gorgeous morning markets and load up on choice selections for a gourmet feast. The area of Strasbourg St Denis is one of the best for quick and delicious food that can be enjoyed at some of Paris’s top scenic locations. (For ideas check 10 FREE Things to do in Paris with Kids)
#2. Baby Brunch
Sunday’s Baby Brunch at the Méridien Montparnasse hotel is famous, with staff who keep the kids entertained for at least an hour while parents can relax and sample the delicious buffet. The kids even have their own kid-friendly buffet to enjoy!
#3. Quality Seafood
If you family love seafood you will have to sample the creuse oysters from Cancale served at Breizh Café. For picky eaters, the choice of fillings is limited, but the ingredients are high quality – such as Valrhona chocolate with 70% cocoa solids in the delicious dessert crêpes.

#4. Paris Family Time
If you’d like to eat with the local families then head out on a Sunday. The local chains such as Hippopotamus and Chez Clément are packed with families and have establishments all over Paris, some with play areas.

#5. Fußball & Rooftop
My favourite! Mama Shelter is just the coolest place with a pizzeria, kids menus and a gorgeous roof-top.
They serve delicious food and there’s even a Fußball table, what more do you need?

#6. Yummy Macaroons
The most stunning chocolate shop you will ever visit! Macaroons from Maison Georges cost €5 for 8 – just the right amount to get you through an afternoon stroll in Paris. Maison Georges can be found in St Germain and Pigalle. Good luck trying not to go back for more!
#7. Sweet Treats
You will be dreaming of Angelina long after you leave! Serving Paris’s most scrumptious desserts and the best hot chocolate ever! Located just minutes from the Lourve, the place is understandably packed at weekends, so you may have to queue- well worth it though!
#8. Paris Park
Le BAL is a café in a photo gallery with a welcoming décor and delicious food. A little off the beaten track, it is situated opposite the Square des Deux Nethes which has a community garden and play equipment. Cute bookshop next door if you have time to browse.
