David Beckham is known for a lot of things – football, fashion, four kids – but did you know he’s also a genuine LEGO enthusiast? When he’s not on the pitch or on the red carpet, he’s just as likely to be found hunched over a table covered in tiny bricks. His most memorable build to date might just be the LEGO Disney Castle, a 4,000-piece project he took on for his princess-mad daughter, Harper.

Beckham shared his progress on Instagram, posting a photo of himself surrounded by all 4,080 pieces of the LEGO Disney Castle, captioned: “Page 1 of the Disney castle, 4,000 pieces, 490 pages of instructions. I look confused but I’m so excited.”

Some time later, he shared a photo of the finished castle, captioned: “1am done… Someone’s gonna have a nice surprise in the morning 👸 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ❤️”
This wasn’t Beckham’s first big LEGO moment. Back in 2014, he told The Sunday Times that building LEGO helps him unwind, saying it “helps to calm me down.” At the time, his big project was the LEGO Tower Bridge set, a 4,287-piece build.
Years before that, in 2010, Beckham took part in a live webchat with fans and spoke about his love of LEGO after completing the LEGO Taj Mahal – a mammoth 5,922-piece set. Interest in the set reportedly spiked after his comments, proving that celebrity enthusiasm for a hobby can be pretty contagious.

LEGO Sets for Adults
