Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make Chinese pork lettuce wraps ahead of time?
Yes. You can cook the pork mixture in advance and store it in the fridge for a day or two. Simply reheat gently and spoon into fresh lettuce leaves just before serving so they stay crisp.
What can I use instead of pork mince?
Chicken or turkey mince both work well as a swap, and you can also try a plant-based mince for a vegetarian version. Adjust cooking time slightly depending on the mince you choose.
Are these wraps suitable for kids who don’t like spice?
Absolutely. Simply leave out the chilli or reduce the amount, and let everyone add their own extra spice or sauce at the table if they’d like more heat.
What sides go well with these wraps?
Steamed rice, a simple cucumber salad, or extra fresh veg like grated carrot and sliced pepper all make great additions alongside the lettuce wraps.
