If someone told you David Beckham spends his downtime building LEGO, you might raise an eyebrow — but the football legend and dad-of-four is a genuine LEGO enthusiast. His Instagram posts documenting a mammoth build showed him taking on the LEGO Disney Castle for princess-mad daughter Harper, and 4,000 pieces later, the finished castle was ready for her to discover.

In one Instagram post, Beckham shared a photo of himself surrounded by all 4,080 pieces of the LEGO Disney Castle, captioned: “Page 1 of the Disney castle, 4000 pieces 490 pages of instructions I look confused but I’m so excited.”

A few days later, he posted a photo of the completed castle, with the caption: “1am done… Someone’s gonna have a nice surprise in the morning 👸 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ❤️”
This wasn’t Beckham’s first LEGO build to make headlines. Back in 2014, he told The Sunday Times that building LEGO helped him de-stress, saying it “helps to calm me down.” At the time, his big project was the LEGO Tower Bridge set, made up of a whopping 4,287 pieces.
Even earlier, in 2010, Beckham took part in a live webchat with fans and spoke about his love of LEGO after completing the LEGO Taj Mahal — a staggering 5,922-piece build. Following his comments, sales of that model reportedly jumped by 663%.
