At the annual Disney Investor Day yesterday, Disney bosses made a series of huge announcements for all the new movies, series and shows from the worlds of Nat Geo, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and Disney+
The streaming service is set for some major movies and shows in 2021 and beyond, including Hocus Pocus 2, Sister Act 3 and many more!

Hocus Pocus 2 is Really Happening!
In a series of tweets from the official Disney account, Disney shared all the latest news and announcements – including what is sure to be a new Halloween favourite!

Get Ready for Sister Act 3
Everyone’s favourite showgirl is back in the habit for Sister Act 3, a follow on from the much-loved movies in 1992 and 1993.
Whoopi Goldberg will return to star in the third instalment, also producing alongside Tyler Perry.

Three Men and a Baby
Announcements were also made for a remake of the ’80s favourite Three Men and a Baby – which previously starred Tom Selleck, Michael and Ted Danson – due in 2022 and starring Zac Efron.
Cheaper By the Dozen
A reimaginging of the hilarious Cheaper by the Dozen from “Blackish” producer Kenya Barris, will debut on Disney+ in 2022. It will tell the story of a blended family of 12, and will star Gabrielle Union.
The Lion King Prequel
A prequel to the live-action The Lion King is in development from Barry Jenkins, the director of Oscar-winning film Moonlight. Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams will provide the music.
Disenchanted
Disenchanted, a sequel to the hit film Enchanted, will stream exclusively on Disney+ with Amy Adams returning for more fun as Giselle!
The Little Mermaid
The cast of Disney’s live action remake The Little Mermaid was announced and will star Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Daveed Diggs, and Awkwafina. The movie will feature music from the animated original and new music from Lin Manuel Miranda and Al Menken.
Pinocchio
One of Disney’s all-time classics is coming to Disney+ with the new live-action retelling of Pinocchio, starring Tom Hanks and directed by Robert Zemeckis.
Peter Pan
Peter Pan & Wendy will be flying to Disney+, starring Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell and Jude Law as Captain Hook.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild is the next instalment in 20th Century Studios’ Ice Age franchise and will come to Disney+ in early 2022. It stars three favourite characters – prankster possum brothers Crash and Eddie, and swashbuckling weasel Buck voiced by Simon Pegg.
Flora and Ulysses
A cynical young comic book fan and her superpowered squirrel sidekick team up in Flora and Ulysses, an Original Movie streaming February 2021 on Disney+.
Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers
Chip and Dale are back in a hybrid live-action and animated feature coming to Disney+. Directed by Akiva Schaffer and starring John Mulaney and Andy Sambert.
