Nothing beats a good Christmas movie to get you in the mood for the festive season. And watching a family Christmas movie together is a nice thing to do with the kids in the run up to the big day. Netflix have just released the trailer for Klaus, the First Original Netflix Animated Movie. Will it join the best Christmas movies lists?

One of our favourite pre-Christmas things to do as a family is to watch a Christmas movie together. Some of our best-loved Christmas movies over the past few years have been Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life, Polar Express, The Grinch (we prefer the original version) and Arthur Christmas.
So I’m looking forward to trying a new Christmas movie out this year with the arrival of Klaus.
Klaus, the First Original Netflix Animated Movie Coming Soon
About Klaus
The new animated movie, directed by Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos, is Netflix’s first original animated feature film.
Klaus will also join a handful of other Netflix releases that debut in cinemas prior to launching on the streaming platform. Klaus will hit movie theatres first on 8th November 2019 before rolling out worldwide on 15th November 2019.
Apparently Klaus is going to be the first of an incredible lineup of family friendly movies and tv series produced by Netflix, working with some of the most highly regarded talents in the industry including Guillermo Del Toro, Henry Selick, Glen Keane, Nora Twomey and others.
Klaus is also the first traditionally animated film released by an American company in a long time. Eschewing the more popular CGI format for animation, Klaus is made as a 2D animation using traditional methods.
Director Sergio Pablos reveals that the magic formula for a fabulous Christmas movie is to “Make them laugh 30 times and make them cry twice: first time out of sorrow, and second time out of joy.”
If he can achieve that with Klaus then it will join the stable of best christmas movies to enjoy with kids.

The Synopsis for Klaus
When Jesper (voiced by Jason Schwartzman) distinguishes himself as the postal academy’s worst student, he is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where the feuding locals hardly exchange words let alone letters.
Jesper is about to give up when he finds an ally in local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones), and discovers Klaus (Oscar® winner J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin full of handmade toys.
These unlikely friendships return laughter to Smeerensburg, forging a new legacy of generous neighbors, magical lore and stockings hung by the chimney with care.
You’ll be able to watch Klaus on Netflix from 15th November.
