Parenting is such a rollercoaster of emotions, with lows and highs you would never expect. Your kids grow up in the blink of an eye, before you know it, they have grown up. The best advice I can give you is to enjoy every moment. That moment when you get your first hug, when you hear them say their first word, when you see those first steps. These are the touching parenting moments, epitomised in this gorgeous and emotional poem Say Yes to One More Book

As a parent of two teens, it’s hard for me to believe the time has gone so fast. My touching parenting moments have definitely included some of the standard ones,

  • the time they gave me their first sloppy kiss
  • the time they called out for Mum
  • the time they took their first few steps
  • the time they went to primary school
  • the time they went to secondary school

But there have been other moments where I’ve caught myself getting a bit tearful, when my youngest brings home a beautiful piece of art she created or the eldest tells me about some annoying school incident and I realise yet again it’s not long until she leaves home (ok hand me the tissues now!).

It’s all gone so so quickly! So when I came across this beautiful poem by Kim Uliana aka The Pinterested Parent, I just had to share it on Mykidstime. I hope you like it, to me it really says it all so succinctly.

Say yes to one more book,
one more hug,
one more kiss goodnight,
tuck them in and snuggle them tight.

One day you will tuck them in and
they’ll be grown.
They will smile and tell you
they can do it on their own.

Say yes to all of it…
