#1. Repurpose a Bookcase

I like this idea from Amy at The Idea Room, she repurposed an old bookcase into a simple toy storage unit including the clever cuddly toy section on the right.

#2. Hang Mesh Storage

This is a nifty idea from Micasa if you are short of space and can make use of some vertical room instead. Hang simple mesh storage units from the ceiling for cuddly toys.

#3. Komplement Clothes Hanger

Love this! Use an IKEA Komplement clothes hanger on the back of the door for toys instead of ties as Lorri Dyner has suggested.

#4. Underbed Storage

When space is at a premium in a small room, one idea is to use drawers that go under the bed for extra storage space.

This idea from AVSO is good because the drawer has containers to sort the toys easily.

You can find similar underbed storage on wheels at Great Little Trading Co.

#5. IKEA Pax Underbed Drawer Hack

Another cool underbed storage idea, this one from Ikeahackers.net, where they used the IKEA PAX drawer and attached caster wheels and handles so the child can pull on the box to access his toys.

#6. DIY Toy Box with Casters

I love this project from This Little Street to make toy boxes with casters and cushioned lids. There’s a complete tutorial and shopping list for this fun project on their website.

#7. Back of Door Storage

Here’s a handy tip to use shoe organisers hung over the back of the door for soft toys. And I like the way they have used mini laundry baskets hooked over fun hooks fixed to the wall to the side of the door for extra storage.

#8. Personalised Bags

This is a nice idea from Pembegaraj, to get some personalised tote bags to hang on the back of the door to store different types of toys.

#9. Bath Toy Storage

Isn’t this idea from 8footsix such a simple but effective one? Use a tiered metal fruit basket to store bath toys. All you do is hang it off the shower rail and the water can drain off the bath toys easily.

#10. Outdoor Toy Storage

This is a cool idea for outdoor toy storage bins? Just use a shelving unit and add storage bins with labels so everyone knows what goes where.

#11. Simple End of Bed Storage

Isn’t this a handy idea? Just attach a net to the end of your child’s bed and you can stuff in toys and books for easy access. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best!

#12. Flower Baskets

You could use flower baskets attached to the wall of your playroom like Kate from Centsationalgirl did. (Her blog is full of great tips and inspiration to tidy up the house by the way).
