Fun Playgrounds in Tipperary to take the Kids to


Looking for something fun to do with your child in Tipperary?  Why not try a new playground that you’ve never been to.  Here are some favourite playgrounds in Tipperary, recommended by parents:


Situated on the banks of the River Shannon, the playground at

Ballina has 3 slides as well as monkey bars for big and small and a fort like layout.

It is fenced in so no little ones can escape!

There’s also an outdoor gym, outdoor pool and picnic area, just beside playground.

There is plenty of car parking available.


Located on the Tipperary/Cork Border.

Ballyporeen area is made up of the village and eighteen townslands.

We love visiting Ballyporeen as it is a nice compact playground with good equipment for different ages.

A particular favourite is the seesaw!

Cashel (Upper Friar Street)

The Cashel playground has both swings and slides and a climbing frame for younger children.

There’s also a green area with picnic table and free car parking adjacent.

You might bring a basket ball with you to play as well as there is also a basket ball court beside the playground.


Located in the Town Park in the same Grounds as the GAA pitch. When coming from Thurles/The Ragg the playground is on your left entering the town.

Cahir (Duneske Centre)

Leave Cahir on the Clonmel Road and take the first left after the Garda Station.

As well as the playground there are all weather football pitches, a floodlit all weather tennis court, two full size GAA pitches, and two additional full size football pitches in the Duneske Centre.

All facilities are on offer to all members of the public so older and younger kids could enjoy a day out here!


Just off Main Street take a left turn at the end of the town when coming from Nenagh.

The playground is located in the Town Park. It has something to offer to children of all ages, boasting modern, state-of-the-art equipment in a spacious development.

The play equipment includes basket swings, flat seat swings, spinner bowl, speaking tubes, toddler multi play unit, junior multi play unit, 2 seat springer, 3 seat spring seesaw, roundabout, large climbing maze.

There is seating and ample car parking available and is within a short walking distance of Borrisokane town centre. There is also awalking route, river, duck pond and seating areas in the Town Park.

Aglish Playground

Aglish is in North Tipperary, on the borders of Counties Galway, Clare and Offaly.

It is a small friendly, rural village approx 4 miles from Borrisokane.

The playground has a nice selection of equipment for preschoolers and older kids.

Templemore Playground 

Templemore town park consists of approximately 90 acres. The park is a favourite of many who love the walks, lakes, wildlife, sporting facilities, playground, and easy parking facilities.

The park boasts a fantastic playground. As it’s situated on the grounds of the Lake , it is perfect for family walks and the children can also feed the ducks. Another advantage this playground has over others if the outdoor adult exercise equipment enabling parents to work out while watching their kids having a swinging time!
