April 18th to 22nd 2019 – Hatch a plan to go to the Croke Park this Easter break where you can enjoy taking part in an eggstra special Easter Egg Hunt! Each participant will have a load of fun as they follow clues around the stadium. They will have to be eggstra vigilant and listen carefully if they want to complete the hunt and earn themselves a delicious Cadbury’s Easter egg at then end of the hunt.

Easter Fun for Families at Irish National Stud
The Irish National Stud & Gardens have daily family activities running over the Easter Break from April 19th to 22nd 2019. There will be Pony Rides, face painting, magic shows, craft workshops and a Petting Zoo with Farmyard in your Schoolyard. Children can visit the playground, discover fairies & folklore on the Fairy Trail and come and see the new baby foals with a guided tour of the stud and gardens included in the ticket price.
The Punchestown Festival of racing is on from April 30th to May 4th 2019 and offers a great day out for all the family. To celebrate the Irish National Stud & Gardens will parade their living legends each morning before the races begin. You will be able to get up close to Kicking King, Beef or Salmon, Hardy Eustace and many more living legends! and you will receive a 20% discount off your race entry ticket when you show your INS ticket.

Saturday April 20th at 8pm – Enjoy a free Bat Walk with Bat Conservation Ireland at Belvedere House & Gardens. The Bat Walk begins with an illustrated talk on Bats, dispelling all of the myths and detailing just how marvellous these tiny mammals really are. The talk is followed by a guided bat walk with the use of Bat Boxes around Belvedere parkland. These allow you to hear the bats hunt and communicate with each other.
Important Note: Walk is weather permitting (bats are far too sensible to be out in the wet or cold!). Wear warm clothing sensible footwear and bring a small torch.
Admission is free with donations on the night to Bat Conservation Ireland.
Easter Family Fun at Birr Castle
April 13th to 28th 2019 – For anyone interested in nature, discovery and adventure, Birr Castle Gardens & Science Centre has a real treat in store this Easter break. They will have their Birr Castle Easter Family Quest which is an alternative to the traditional Easter Egg Hunt and will take young, and maybe not so young, explorers on a journey through time, from great engineering feats to wildlife discoveries, and many more highlights in between. Once the young explorers complete the quest they return to the playground kiosk for their Easter treat.

Easter Steam Trains at Stradbally
Stradbally Woodland Railway are running steam trains for Easter on Easter Sunday and Monday April 21st and 22nd. Trains will be operating from 12-4pm both days with tickets priced at only €3 for children, €7 for adults with under 5s going free. Tickets are sold on the day at the platform and are valid for as many trips as you like. The train is fully wheelchair accessible so passengers can enjoy the lush, green forests from the unique perspective of a steam train.
Mellowes Adventure Centre in Meath have a host of Easter Activities for Families.
The Fairyhouse Easter Festival takes place from Sunday April 21st to Tuesday April 23rd 2019 with their Easter Family Fun Day on the 23rd when kids go free and there are lots of fun activities to keep everyone in the family entertained.
Saturday 20th to Monday 22nd April, 10am to 5pm – There’s a full timetable of Easter Fun at Newgrange Farm, Drogheda planned with fun & games, colouring competitions, family quiz, prizes, sheep stakes (with teddy jockeys!) and calf feeding. Easter Saturday April 20th, 12pm-3pm – With Irish bee numbers in decline it is vitally important to try and help. Head along to McD’s Garden Centre Loughrea on Easter Saturday and learn more by meeting the native Irish black bees of Oakwood Farm in their travelling beehive. Meet the beekeepers and have the opportunity to learn about how the colony of bees work.
There will also be trained horticulturists on hand to tell you about what plants are great for pollination and more at this FREE event.

Galway City Museum is free to visit and have regular events and workshops throughout the year. This Easter break you can enjoy a guided tour entitled Bring your own questions! It takes place on April 20th from 12pm to 1pm and if free and suitable for ages 8+. Families will learn more about the exhibits in the Museum and gain some local knowledge too! The lovely people from Stonebrook Farm will be there with their cutest and furriest of animals this Easter Sunday and bank holiday Monday. There will be lambs, rabbits, chicks, guinea pigs, hamsters, tortoises and a little goat.
Children are allowed to pet the animals, bottle feed the pet lambs, hold baby chicks and ducklings etc. This is a free event and no booking is required.

Johnstown Castle are having their annual Easter Egg Hunts from Saturday April 13th to Monday April 22nd.
Participants in the Easter Egg Trail which takes place around the gardens have a choice of a mini or mega trail!
The cost is €4 per trail and can be paid on the day, no need to book.
