Castleknock Hotel & Spa, Dublin
Castleknock Hotel is an award-winning modern 4 star hotel set in lush grounds beside the Phoenix Park. Situated beside Castleknock Village, the hotel is only 5 minutes from Blanchardstown Village and 15 minutes from Dublin City Centre. It is the perfect retreat for families with teens who want to experience everything the capital has to offer, but in a tranquil setting.
The hotel has a range of amenities that are popular with families with teens or tweens; an 18-hole golf course, award-winning restaurants and welcoming bars, outdoor BBQ area, 18 metre pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, it’s everything that could be required from a great family hotel.
The family rooms offer plenty of space for up to 4 people or you could stay in a family suite with interconnecting rooms. They are equipped with all the luxuries you would expect from a top class hotel. When our reviewer visited there was an Nespresso machine, full ironing board, Nexflix and Sky Sports. They even had a hair straightener along with a hair dryer, essential for most teen girls.
Many fun attractions are located nearby to the hotel including, The National Aquatic Centre, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Fort Lucan adventure centre, Tayto Park and Dublin Zoo.
The Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney
Situated adjacent to the INEC in the centre of Killarney, the Gleneagle Hotel also has a host of on-site activities to amuse teens & tweens including:

The Lough Allen Hotel, Leitrim
The Lough Allen Hotel & Spa in Drumshambo offers a selection of family rooms, 2 bedroom apartments and larger self catering houses that can cater for all ages and family groups. There is a great swimming pool for hotel guests to use, a spa for older teens and during the summer months, activities on Lough Allen.
I visited with a group of kids and teens and we found everything from horse-riding at the stables beside the hotel entrance, to stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and trips on the lake in Canadian canoes to keep us all happy.

The Maritime Hotel, Cork
The Maritime Hotel in Bantry offers a fantastic selection of accommodation in one and two bedroom suites, perfect for families with teens. Each bedroom has its own TV and there is also one in the large living space, so there will be no rows over what to watch!
For those who are feeling active, there is a state of the art gym, large swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Near the hotel, guests can enjoy golf, horse riding, paragliding, quad biking, adventure centres, a variety of water sports and can hire bikes to explore the surrounding towns.
You can even go island hopping to the nearby islands of Whiddy, Sherkin, Cape Clear and Gamish and see if you can spot whales and dolphins along the way. One Friday each month there is a market in Bantry where you can buy a selection of goods. And Dursey Island cable car, Mizen Head, and Barleycove beach are only a short trip away too. Amber Springs Hotel, Wexford
Situated in the picturesque town of Gorey, the Amber Springs Hotel comes highly recommended by parents with kids of all ages. On-site you can enjoy crazy-golf, football, go-karting, large 20m indoor pool with spa facilities, fully equipped gym, VR Games room, table tennis, air hockey and organised game night tournaments.

Diamond Coast Hotel, Sligo
The Diamond Coast Hotel in Enniscrone sits beside an amazing blue flag beach where there is an abundance of water sports for teens, tweens and kids of all ages to enjoy. Added to its amazing location, the family rooms are pretty impressive too.
On-site there is a basketball court, soccer pitch, tennis court and a pool room. And in the village of Enniscrone you can enjoy the Waterpoint Aqua Park with an 18m swimming pool and 65m flume slide! There is also an 18 hole pitch and putt course and many award winning golf courses nearby.

Mount Juliet, Kilkenny
Mount Juliet in Kilkenny is home to a Michelin star restaurant and may not be the first place you consider for a family break away with teens.
